Captain Thomas S Zub
Union County Hazmat EMS
Fourth Watch MC Raritan Valley

Thomas “Taz” Zub was a charter member of Fourth Watch MC Raritan Valley and proudly held the position of Treasurer for 6 years until his passing. Even before the Valor Ride was passed on to Fourth Watch MC, Tom loved this ride and everything it stood for. Tom knew that he wanted to be a part of it in some way. A few years later when the opportunity presented itself for Fourth Watch to host the Valor Ride Thomas agreed to be a part of it without hesitation.

Throughout the years Tom was deeply involved in the planning and execution of each Valor Ride. This involves several months prior to the event of sacrificing personal time to this cause.

Tragically in 2021 Tom was diagnosed with squamous cell carcinoma, a aggressive form of cancer that attacks the tongue and respiratory systems. In spite of fighting cancer Tom still fulfilled his duties as Treasurer and helped out with the Valor Ride as he was able to. Thomas spent one of the last days he had in this life at the Valor Ride in 2022. Sadly, four days later Thomas passed away at the age of 34.

Throughout his career Thomas worked for multiple different public service agencies, including volunteering as Captain of the Clark Volunteer First Aid Squad, and as a Firemen for the Cranford Fire Department and the Garwood Fire Department. He was a Hazardous Materials Technician and EMT with Union County Emergency Services. He was a past President, Treasurer, and Delegate of FMBA Local 99. Finally an EMT for the Rahway First Aid Emergency Squad.

Tom is deeply missed by his family, fellow members of emergency services, and the brothers and sisters of Fourth Watch MC.
